Pascal Duchauffour has been elevated Area Vice President responsible for The Ritz-Carlton, Bulgari and Edition brands in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, announced Hervé Humler, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. A major focus for Mr. Duchauffour is the regional growth and development of these luxury hotel brands in the region, having been closely involved in the discussions of potential new hotels in key gateway cities.
Duchauffour was most recently General Manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre and he has held the same position at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa from 2003 to 2007. Prior to those postings, Mr. Duchauffour was the Resident Manager at the 608-room Ritz-Carlton Millenia, Singapore for two years. He had also been appointed as Hotel Manager for The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai and was a key member in the hotel's opening team in 1997.
Pascal Duchauffour has held several operational positions at The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco for six years starting from 1991, where he participated in the first of the two successful Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award applications.
In addition, he has lent his expertise in the openings of several Ritz-Carlton hotels in Asia, which include The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Central Place, The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul, The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur and The Ritz-Carlton, Double Bay in Australia. Before joining The Ritz-Carlton in 1991, he worked at the Hôtel Le Meurice in Paris, the Four Seasons Hotel Inn on the Park in London and at the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, where his successful hospitality career began.
Born in Paris, France and an avid athlete, Mr. Duchauffour enjoys active sports such as soccer, karting and marathon running during his leisure time, as well as spending time with his four children.
