Galgorm Resort & Spa Opens £1 Million Renovation
by Staff Reporter

This month sees the completion of Galgorm’s hotly anticipated £1 million renovation, as they open the doors tto the luxurious Four Seasons Wedding and Events Suite.

The multi-award winning United Kingrom resort, ensconced in 163 acres of lush parkland, announced plans for the extravagant refurbishment of the Four Seasons Suite in February, a project which was undertaken by designers and architects, Douglas Wallace.

Executed by NU Quay contractors, the highly sought-after function suite has seen its capacity expand from hosting 80 guests to 120 guests. The renovation will allow the deluxe four star property to maintain its standing as one of Northern Ireland’s most popular wedding venues.

A fusion of classical and contemporary design, the exclusive new Suite features its own private entrance, a sleek new reception area featuring bespoke Italian furniture which leads through to the exquisite main dining room where hand blown Murano Glass Chandeliers hang from the ceiling.

11,000 pieces of crystal glass hang from a hand-placed ceiling fringe with changeable coloured lighting allowing the mood of the room to change according to its theme. Outside a private formal garden provides a beautiful backdrop to the top table with a breathtaking bespoke water feature.

Acting General Manager, Paul Smyth, explained the concept behind the renovation: “As one of Ireland’s leading wedding venues we are constantly having to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of our clients. We find that wedding couples want the unique experience that a traditional property offers while benefitting from all the modern amenities of a new design. To address this issue we sought to provide an events suite which incorporates the best of both worlds – merging classical lines with a contemporary feel and state-of-the-art facilities." He added: “I am really very proud of the refurbishment. The Four Seasons Suite looks spectacular and, additionally offers a host of new event opportunities for our associates and the surrounding community."

The 2011 refurbishment is the latest in a line of enhancements worth £20 million made to the hotel over the past 5 years to ensure that, as the number one Spa hotel in Ireland, it rivals the best in the world and continues to exceed guests’ expectations.
