Boomer Sponsors Innovative Art Exhibtion Led By VWP Architects

Boomer Boosts Fine Arts with VWP Architects

Boomer Industries, a United Kingdom plastics extruder is supporting creative talent with sponsorship of an innovative new art exhibition. The ‘Costumbrismo’ exhibition, hosted by VWP Architects, examines the nuances of everyday life.

VWP Director, Pamela Vasey, explained: “We are very pleased to support this new initiative, providing space for young and emerging artists to exhibit their work. We see the artists work as an extension of the service we provide. Many of our clients are art enthusiasts, and by providing this creative platform we hope to help these talented artists widen their audience.” VWP Architects, recently developed their new exhibition space on the ground floor of refurbished offices, situated on Belfast’s Castlereagh Road.

Andrew Robinson, Boomer Industries’ Managing Director said: “The creative lifeblood of architectural services derives much from the fine arts. Boomer’s participation and support for this project is an effort to encourage innovation in the arts and industry. Supporting talented local artists and designers can lead to a higher level of product quality, excellence in design is crucial to the commercial viability of entrepreneurial companies.”

He added: “Cities such as Barcelona have attracted huge praise for their innovative business approaches. The Catalan arts have inspired business start-ups, extensive rebranding and global participation in technical and consumer markets. Boomer believes in the importance of dynamic concept creation; our own approach to innovation is delivering growth in new markets and preparing the way for extended market share. Important to our success is our capacity to communicate with our existing client base and with new sectors, our support of the arts helps us achieve this.”

The theme, ‘Costumbrismo’ is the often romanticized procession through our day; the small routines that give us sense of place and purpose.

Spanish Society in the early 20th Century danced to a mannered choreography familiar to Edwardian and Victorian Britain. Its façade of civility was Pre-Raphaelite in hue, but unmasking its pretense was the agonized prerogative of writers including Larra.

Bassett, Wallace & Whitla discuss the identity, belonging, emotional memory and refined convention. Costumbrismo’s unifying theme is the aspect of the everyday, the seemingly accepted frame of our existence. Tone, stroke and stitch reflect mood, pace and precise social inflection; Costumbrismos is the voice of our unspoken, unwritten constitution.

The exhibition opened for public viewing on the 18th November, it runs until 12th December.
