Trecem Prestressing Steel Launches Competitive Spanish Marketing Campaign

Trecem Wire Products, part of the EU Steel Group, has launched a new Spanish marketing campaign.

Homologation of its prestressing steel in 2009, by Spain’s Ministério de Indústria Turismo e Comercio (MITC), will boost sales in the Spain, and encouraged EU Steel to invest substantially to gain additional market share.

Launching the campaign, TWP General Manager, Dr. Nuno Branco, said: “Our success with high profile projects such as Leziria’s Bridge, Douro-Litoral Highway and other projects in Portugal, has created the perfect platform for Trecem to develop in the Spanish market. Trecem already supplies many of the Iberian region’s most important construction companies.”

“Their focus, and demand for high quality and sensitive pricing, has driven our product accreditation programme. Our objective is to bring to Spanish firms a dependable partner in prestressing steel. We want to ensure Spain has every opportunity to buy high quality prestressing steel products at competitive prices.”

EU Steel has recently achieved the highest Spanish certification for Trecem’s wire products. Against this background, Branco explained: “Our campaign will promote two benefits: firstly, with accreditation from the MITC, we have proven the equal quality of our products. Secondly, EU Steel is challenging the high cost of some Spanish suppliers; we are absolutely committed to providing MITC certified quality at a lower price, and this new marketing campaign will drive this message throughout 2010.”

Trecem said it is planning to advance a customer relationship strategy built around bespoke pricing. “We are investing in a customer development programme, it’s designed to persuade Spanish companies to consider Trecem as an alternative to their current steel suppliers.
