Plans
for a trade mission to Lithuania are now in the pipeline - thanks
to a trade event hosted by Belfast City Council.
Local firms attending the 'Do Business With Lithuania' breakfast at Belfast City Hall heard Ambassador of Lithuania, Mr Vygaudas Usackas, say his country would welcome a trade mission from Northern Ireland with open arms.
"Our goal as a result of this successful event is to further promote the trade interest between our two countries,” said Ambassador Usackas. He added: “We very much hope that the strong foundations already established, will now be built on."
The Ambassador was accompanied to Belfast by the Deputy Minister of Economy for Lithuania, Mr Vytautas Nauduzas, who answered a wide range of questions from Belfast business people keen to learn more about potential opportunities.
Councillor Nelson McCausland, Chairman of Belfast City Council's Development Committee, paid tribute to the continued momentum in investigating new trade possibilities for local firms. "Events like this one help the local business community broaden its horizons and increase the scope for expansion. We are delighted to be able to facilitate this progress," he added.
