Take The Franchise Initiative

Belfast City Council and Invest NI have announced the launch of the Franchise Initiative - a programme offering training and consultancy support.
And with around 800 franchised systems currently operating throughout the UK, there is something to suit every potential franchisee or franchisor, whatever the scale of their aspirations.
If you are a successful and sustainable business with a strong brand you may wish to consider franchising as a business growth strategy. Franchising could facilitate a faster, cost effective growth through the recruitment of highly motivated and well-trained franchisees.
On the other side of the fence, if you want to start up a business you may opt to buy into a franchise, greatly increasing your business’ likelihood of success as the franchisor will have made and learned from the mistakes common in the start up phase.
Councillor Michael Browne, Chairman of Belfast City Council’s Development committee stated: “We are keen to encourage Belfast businesses, which hope to expand through franchising, to come forward. This programme is structured to help gain an understanding of the practicalities of franchising and offer support to develop a franchise network.”
Graham Davis, Invest NI’s Director of Regional Economic Development, added: “When it comes to starting a business, many entrepreneurs are now choosing the franchise option, since much of the expertise in areas such as marketing is readily available. Businesses can also become more competitive by expanding through franchising, and it is an ideal way to increase turnover and profits.”
