Ten Belfast Companies Offered Chance To Grow Their Business
Belfast City Council has announced the next stage of it successful Sales Growth Programme. The latest wave of the Programme will involve 10 Belfast companies.
Delivered by Belfast-based Full Circle Management Solutions, the scheme is aimed at owner-managers of small firms who wish to enhance their selling skills in order to grow their business.
Said Simon Devlin, a partner in Full Circle: “Our experience of working with small businesses is that the owner-manager often lacks the skills or confidence to proactively target new customers. Consequently, these businesses often rely on personal contacts and word of mouth recommendations.
“This training works with participants to enhance both their selling skills and their confidence. A core theme is driving home the need to actually get out from behind your desk and look for new business”.
Councillor Michael Browne, Chairman of Belfast City Council’s Development Committee, added: “This is a highly practical programme involving a series of selling skills development workshops as well as one to one personal sales coaching geared to help participants generate real results in terms of increased sales. We are committed to assisting small businesses in the Belfast area to move forward with confidence.”
Michael Murray of Baxter Murray Creative Chocolate took part last year and is enthusiastic about the rewards it brought. “Like a lot of owner-managers, I’m much more comfortable in the factory than I am out looking for new business”, he admitted. “One of the key lessons from the Programme was that there are steps anyone can take that will significantly increase the prospect of winning new business. We are now reaping the benefits”.
