KBC Bank Extends Global Brand to Ireland. IIB Bank renames to KBC Bank Ireland plc.
IIB Bank plc has officially renamed and rebranded its operations in Ireland. Renamed KBC Bank Ireland plc, the move will provide a consistent global identity for the bank, with a platform for businesses operating in internal and external markets through the Group’s global network.
The Bank, which is wholly owned by the Belgian banking giant KBC Bank NV, has offices in Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Limerick and Galway employing approximately 700 people in total.
KBC Bank Ireland has already established itself as a leading provider of business and personal finance services in Ireland, and through its relationship focus has built strong franchises with many Irish businesses.
Speaking at the announcement KBC Bank Ireland Chief Executive, Ted Marah said, “The name change represents a new and very exciting phase in the IIB and KBC relationship which commenced in 1978. It will allow us to further leverage off the KBC Group’s strength and global reach to meet the national and international needs of our business and personal clients.”
Aidan Doherty, Head of KBC Bank in Northern Ireland which focuses on the SME/owner-occupier sector, said, “The Northern Ireland office opened in February 2005 to provide a full range of business banking, deposit/treasury and wealth management services. We have already built up an unrivalled reputation as being a bank for business people, and our client base covers a broad spectrum of Northern Ireland’s business community.
