Best Members Club Award for Molton House
New Restaurant, Cocktail Bar & Club in
London’s South Molton Street
Molton House, a new members lounge and restaurant in a converted 5-storey Georgian townhouse in London’s South Molton Street, has received “The Best Members Club?” award.
The award was warmly received on behalf of Molton house by Mark Fairweather, the general manager. It represents an achievement of excellence from club goers and London’s nightlife connoisseurs. Awarded for the first time this year to Molton House, it placed Molton House with other clubs who competed in the category including the prestigious Groucho Club, the highly esteemed Soho House, and the well regarded Electric Brassiere.
Created by Nick Valentine, co-founder of London’s celebrated The Cuckoo Club, Molton House features various cocktail bars, a restaurant, private dining and a club – all under one roof.
The interior of Molton House has been designed by Nick Valentine in conjunction with Blacksheep, the team behind high profile lifestyle projects for diverse brands including Hermès (London headquarters), avant-garde Voyage (flagship store, Conduit St) and Inamo, the new state of art restaurant which opened on Wardour Street in August 2008. Natural light enhances much of the building: the appeal of enjoying early evening drinks in such stylish surroundings while overlooking the hustle and bustle of the West End is distinctive, and rarely found in London.
A sense of high fashion is infused throughout the venue. The décor is primarily defined by its sleek curves and a “Regal and Rhiad” influenced interior. Elaborate bespoke furniture is upholstered with faux snake, stingray and ostrich skin while embossed copper tables and rose tinted glass peepholes add further distinct detail. The emphasis on unique stand-alone features is re-enforced with cut ice bars, an infinity keyhole and ceilings covered in crystalised metal.
Access to Molton House is primarily, though not exclusively, for members. The membership committee, which will help to guide the stylistic direction of the venue, reads like a Who’s Who of London’s creative talent, and includes: Alice Temperley, Alex James, Andy Wong, Carl Barat, Lord Charles Spencer-Churchill, Erin O’Connor, Guy Chambers, Helena Christensen, Jackson Scott, Jake Chapman, James Nesbitt, Jemma Kidd, John Stoddart, Jonathan Yeo, Julien Macdonald, Kelly Hoppen, Kiera Chaplin, Kevin Pietersen, Leah Wood, Magnus Fiennes, Lady Mary Wellesley, Mick Jones, Natalie Imbruglia, Nellee Hooper, Nicholas Hoult, Nick Rhodes, Paul Cook (Sex Pistols,), Pearl Lowe, Philip Treacy, Roger Taylor (Queen,) Sadie Frost, Simon & Yasmin Mills, Simon Le Bon, Tommasco Cavalli, Tracey Emin and Tyrone Wood...
