Charlotte Dutton Launches Misticon for Spring / Summer 09
Charlotte Dutton, former world cup snowboarder and model, can now add the title of fashion designer to her name, with the launch of her new clothing label, Misticon. Drawing from her own experiences as both a professional athlete and
a fashion model, Dutton’s Misticon embodies a quirky London style that is at once functional and fashionable, casual and dressy, fun and wearable.
Inspired by 3 years of success with her sell-out signature range ‘MOTO SNO’ for Topshop, Dutton decided to create a new clothing brand of her own, and so the idea for Misticon was born. 
The basic concept behind the brand is to create a versatile range of daywear that caters to all aspects of a modern cosmopolitan girl’s lifestyle.
‘I wanted to design a functional yet fashionable collection full of wardrobe staples: A blend of playful pieces that can be put together to create trendy outfi ts that will put a stop to those “Oh my god, what am I going to wear” days’.’
Versatility is the key with Misticon: not only does the new collection act as interchangeable clothing for inclement weather; it is also specially designed so that the wearer can mix and match the items within the collection. As well as successfully combining practicality with fashion, Misticon also retains a sense of humour: the prints that recur throughout the collection are fun and quirky, ensuring the wearer will always stand out in a crowd.
London born Charlotte Dutton began snowboarding at the age of 11 on a family skiing holiday. By the age of 16, she was spotted by the legendary US snowboard coach Scott Palmer, who offered her the rare opportunity to attend the famous Stratton Mountain School in Vermont.
Since then, Dutton went on to compete regularly in world class tournaments. She won the US National Junior Slalom, represented Britain for 5 seasons and competed on three World Cup Tours. She was the fi rst Brit ever to win prize money at the US Open, competed in the Junior World Championships and won the British Junior Championships in 3 events.
Her impressive standing in snowboarding is reflected by her many personal sponsors which include Volcom,
Palmer Snowboards, Drake and Northwave. 
Dutton began modelling after a chance meeting in Camden, London and soon became the face of a year long Vidal Sassoon campaign.
Since then she has worked for an array of British campaigns including Topshop and Pretty Polly, and worldwide campaigns including Diesel and Samsung to name but a few. Testament to her versatility as a model, Dutton has also worked with some of the most infl uential people in high fashion. She has not only taken to the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier and Dolce and Gabbana shows, but has also been photographed by renowned photographers David Bailey and Rankin.
