Ritz-Carlton Reveals Eco-Conscience
First Eco-Conscious Hotel of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company opened in Charlotte, North Carolina
The eco-conscious Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, designed to achieve LEED® Gold certification and provide a slate of new conveniences for frequent travelers, has opened in the heart of Charlotte’s thriving uptown district.
In May 2009 The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin was delighted to announce the appointment of Robert Petrović as new General Manager. With close to 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, the native-born Austrian has worked on four different continents, lastly in China as hotel manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya on the island of Hainan.
Mr Petrović joined The Ritz-Carlton Company, L.L.C. in 2003 as Executive Assistant Manager Food & Beverage of The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg. Under his direction the fine dining restaurant Aqua was awarded with two Michelin stars. In 2006 he oversaw in his role as Executive Assistant Manager Food & Beverage the opening phase of The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street and only one year later was appointed Hotel Manager. Mr Petrović was tasked with the food & beverage operations during the pre-openings of the Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Moscow, Tokyo, Jakarta and Berlin. Furthermore he occupied senior positions at the Sheraton on the Park in Sydney, the ANA Grand Hotel in Vienna and The Westgate Hotel in San Diego.
Robert Petrović graduated in hotel management from the Lorraine Martin Business College in Sydney and holds a degree in strategic management of the Cornell University, USA, as well as a hospitality supervisor certificate of the American Hotel and Motel Association, Washington D.C., USA. In addition Mr. Petrović is a member of the Global Hoteliers Club. The 35 years old family man with Serbian roots speaks fluently German, English and Serbian as well as Croatian and Rumanian.
