Branco Delighted With Düsseldorf. Next Stop Santiago, Chile

Trecem Wire Products, part of the EU Steel Group, reports a vibrant industry response at the 2010 Wire and Cable Fair recently held in Düsseldorf.

Some delegates took more than one week to return home after the event as a result of the travel chaos caused by the ash clouds. Despite the travel turbulence caused by volcanic ash across much of Europe, the event has created new opportunities and consolidated TWP’s global client base.

TWP General Manager, Dr. Nuno Branco, said: “Wire 2010 gave us an excellent opportunity to meet with so many of our customers from around the world. We also established new opportunities, some of which are proving very promising not only for our customer base, but also as possible partners for future projects.”

“’Production’ was one of the key themes at Wire, and for TWP it reinforced our perception of how steel wire production is changing in Europe. Based on what we learned, TWP has created a study group to report on the potential for new investments on some value added products with new technology, sustainable products, and not least, high return markets.”

“It was also interesting that for the first time, clients from Australia attended the exhibition.”

Branco added: “Our clients and prospective clients showed great interest in the wide range of products we have on offer, and in the service levels we can achieve for them. TWP’s approach to innovation means that we always have new specifications and tailored services to present. However, because the industry is living through a moment when the steel prices have increased by 25%, we used this exhibition to demonstrate just how competitive TWP is, and why we can deliver globally competitive pricing and quality.”

“TWP would like to thank all those who took the time, and braved the travel restrictions, to meet with us in Dusseldorf, it showed real professionalism on the part of our clients that they focused on the exhibition and the many long-term benefits the exhibition has promoted.”

“Our next step is to visit Chile in May, where steel imports are expected to grow this year by 32%. TWP will have a stand at the EDIFICA show (12-15th May) in Santiago - we invite all our clients to meet with us there.”

Nuno Branco and other members of the TWP team will be at the at the EDIFICA show in Santiago from the 12-15th May.
