Petrović Steers Ritz-Carlton, Berlin, Into Post-Recession Era

Robert Petrović - Ritz-CarltonThe Ritz-Carlton, Berlin announced in Q2 the appointment of Robert Petrović as its new General Manager. As the fourth quarter draws a close to the year, Petrović's 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry are helping to pave the way for a resurgent 2010.

The native-born Austrian has worked on four different continents, most recently in China as hotel manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya on the island of Hainan.

Petrović joined The Ritz-Carlton Company, L.L.C. in 2003 as Executive Assistant Manager Food & Beverage of The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg. Under his direction the fine dining restaurant Aqua was awarded with two Michelin stars. In 2006 he oversaw in his role as Executive Assistant Manager Food & Beverage the opening phase of The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street and only one year later was appointed Hotel Manager.

He was tasked with the food & beverage operations during the pre-openings of the Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Moscow, Tokyo, Jakarta and Berlin. Furthermore he occupied senior positions at the Sheraton on the Park in Sydney, the ANA Grand Hotel in Vienna and The Westgate Hotel in San Diego.

Robert Petrović graduated in hotel management from the Lorraine Martin Business College in Sydney and holds a degree in strategic management of the Cornell University, USA, as well as a hospitality supervisor certificate of the American Hotel and Motel Association, Washington D.C., USA. In addition Petrović is a member of the Global Hoteliers Club. This 35 year-old family man with Serbian roots speaks fluentGerman, English and Serbian, as well as Croatian and Romanian.
