Chambord Finds Holly, At The Valmont
Chambord, the black raspberry liqueur, has announced the winning cocktail in ‘The Hunt for Holly’ bartenders competition.
The winning cocktail Raison d’être was created by Adam McGurk from Sosho in Islington, London. McGurk’s cocktail, now renamed as the ‘The Holly Golightly’, has become the official cocktail of the West End play Chambord presents Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the Haymarket Theatre, London, starring Anna Friel.
The winning cocktail was decided at La Vie en Chambord, a special event that took place at The Valmont Club in Chelsea.
The successful cocktail eventually stole the Chambord crown following a live audience vote and a panel of two rotating judges comprising of Colin Ingram (Breakfast at Tiffany’s producer), Gerry Calabrese (Chambord ambassador and founder of The Hoxton Pony), Andy Pearson (founder of intoxicology.co.uk), Allan Taylor (web editor of Theme) and Charlotte Ashburner (Chambord brand manager).
In the final McGurk faced The Hoxton Pony’s Matt Dakers. The six other finalists, from a range of prestigious venues across the country, included:
Kyle Gibson • Blanch House (Brighton)
John Morrison • Elliots (Prestwick)
Ron Frith Mix • (Reading)
Mallory Scott • Bar Strata (Glasgow)
Brun-Noceti Emilie • OXO Tower
Giulio Amodio • China Tang (London)
