Hotel La Florida first opened in 1925, 14 years later the Spanish Civil war exploded and the hotel was used as a military hospital. After its elaborate restoration, Hemingway and the rich industrialists of the 1950’s would meet in the salons to play poker, smoke cigars and plot whiskey infused mayhem. The hotel has again been restored to splendour with a great symbiosis of new and old architectural design, but today, it is given less to plotting and more to pleasure. |

Located 500m on the mountain of Tibidao, the hotel offers 70 rooms, junior suites and eight design suites with breathtaking views of Barcelona’s panorama or the beauty of sun-hued mountains.
The design suites include the presidential suite (it used to the restaurant in the 1950’s) are designed by Rebecca Horn, Christina Macaya, Ben Jakober among others. The city terrace rooms are highly recommended as they have a large private terrace, with sun beds and table, enjoying breathtaking views of the city.
The hotel’s highlight must be the Zen Zone Spa featuring an interior / exterior 37-metre infinity swimming pool made from stainless steel. A wide range of facial and body treatments are available, including massage. Take a swim in the morning and have a cappuccino on the terrace, breakfast can be served on the terrace. Spanish tapás at the Miramar Bar are recommended for idle afternoon moments.
